Welcome to the Wolf-Fans-Club. This is the club entirely dedicated to wolves and werewolves. Please enjoy your visit.

HERE'S SOME GENERAL WOLF INFORMATION FOR YOU:
The gray wolf (Canis lupus), also known as the timber wolf or wolf, is a mammal of the order Carnivora. The gray wolf is the largest wild member of the Canidae family and an ice age survivor originating during the Late Pleistocene around 300,000 years ago.

Gray wolves play an important role as apex predators in the ecosystems they typically occupy. Gray wolves are highly adaptable and have thrived in temperate forests, deserts, mountains, tundra, taiga, grasslands and urban areas.

The gray wolf is a member of the genus Canis, which comprises between 7 and 10 species. It is one of six species termed 'wolf', the others being the Red Wolf (Canis rufus), the Indian Wolf (Canis indica), the Himalayan Wolf (Canis himalayaensis), the Eastern Wolf (Canis lycaon) and the Ethiopian Wolf (Canis simensis), although concerning a couple of these there is still some uncertainty as to whether they should be considered subspecies of Canis lupus or species in their own right. Recent genetic research suggests that the Indian Wolf, originally considered only as a subpopulation of the Southern-East Asian Wolf (Canis lupus pallipes), represents a distinct species (Canis indica). Similar results were obtained for the Himalayan wolf, which is traditionally placed into the Tibetan Wolf (Canis lupus laniger).

WOLVES AND POLITICS
Wolves are constantly at threat from poaching and hunting. In America wolf reintroduction programs have lead to their increase in numbers and thus a decrease in ranch-productivity. Ranchers will do anything to protect their live-stock even killing off these magnificant animals, that have been on this earth far longer than us. Wolves are also hunted for the medicine trade and for their fur. Please help support the wolf by visiting the following website:

WEREWOLVES
Were-wolves, also known as lycanthropes, are mythologic humans with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or wolflike creature, either purposely, by eating Henbane[citation needed], being bitten by a werewolf or after being placed under a curse. They have been around in fiction and myth as long as recorded history. The medieval chronicler Gervase of Tilbury associated the transformation with the appearance of the full moon; however, there is evidence that the association existed among the Ancient Greeks, appearing in the writings of Petronius. This concept was rarely associated with the werewolf until the idea was picked up by Gervase. Werewolves have been mentioned in many forms of media, such as the Harry Potter series and are usually described as vicious monsters.

Please don't join and submit a deviation in the same note. send two separate note. this should stop the admin getting confused (she's very simple minded).
If a deviation contains mature content (either warning or strict) please make sure this is stated in the note.
Please do not favourite club submissions, give the artist your appreciation. Anyone who favourites a club submission will recieve a note asking for it to be removed and credit for the original artist will be given in the note too.
